The Markos Bibis was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Anestis Tzougarakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when PAOK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vassilis Tsartsalis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Markos Bibis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Markos Bibis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Markos Bibis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 32nd minute of the match. PAOK's Markos Bibis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nasos Patakos in the 37th minute of play. After 38 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Makis Papaikonomou who took care of the corner kick. After 40 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. In the 40th minute of the match Makis Papaikonomou shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Markos Bibis. Markos Bibis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 44th minute of play forced PAOK's goalkeeper Markos Bibis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Giorgos Tomaras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 52nd minute of play forced PAOK's goalkeeper Markos Bibis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Agustín Saelices almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but PAOK's Markos Bibis did a great save. In the 58th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. 63 minutes into the match, PAOK's Isidoros Saloufidis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. PAOK's Markos Bibis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save PAOK from getting a goal against them. 64 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Markos Bibis. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anestis Tzougarakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute, Aimilios Eleftheriadis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ecuador booed when PAOK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aimilios Eleftheriadis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the match, PAOK's goalkeeper Markos Bibis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Markos Bibis made a huge save. In the 75th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anestis Tzougarakis's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. After some careless play in the PAOK defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Markos Bibis. The PAOK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Markos Bibis should have stopped the shot. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
