Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Murilo Prestes made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Murilo Prestes in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, SORRISO E. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Caco Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Caco Azevedo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 12th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caco Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléber da Costa in the 18th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of SORRISO E. C. booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cléber da Costa in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. SORRISO E. C.'s Caco Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play. Murilo Prestes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. SORRISO E. C.'s Ryszard Iwanowski got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, SORRISO E. C.'s Edmílson da Rocha got a free kick in the 29th minute. 32 minutes into the game, Antonio Arias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SORRISO E. C. the free kick. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. SORRISO E. C.'s Murilo Prestes shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 33rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Julio Vera but with some difficulty. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Caco Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 39 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Murilo Prestes tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SORRISO E. C.'s goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Murilo Prestes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Murilo Prestes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Murilo Prestes put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Caco Azevedo however easily saved by the left post. Ryszard Iwanowski took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Caco Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Agustín Saelices sent off a good shot on target. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryszard Iwanowski in the 87th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caco Azevedo was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in SORRISO E. C.'s zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caco Azevedo came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because SORRISO E. C. had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
