Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. After 8 played minutes Guardia got a freekick which was hit by Iván Velazquez. Sandro Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Iván Velazquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Godfredo Companys in the 23rd minute. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Ruiz went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 33 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Iván Velazquez came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 37th minute of the match Guardia got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Justino March ran over to the corner to take the kick. Justino March made a great header on Guardia's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Guardia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justino March didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandro Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Ruiz was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Felix Montenegro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sandro Pena. That made the score 1-1 after 56 minutes of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Ruiz in the 60th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Agustín Saelices slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sandro Pena. That made the score 1-2 after 62 minutes of play. After 66 minutes of play, Guardia's Iván Velazquez made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Montenegro during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 72 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. The supporters of Guardia booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Justino March hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Iván Velazquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Guardia's Saul Bernal got a free kick in the 94th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
