In the 15th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute Deilmison Bergkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Deilmison Bergkamp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Deilmison Bergkamp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Durvalino de Queirós hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adriano Diaz. Durvalino de Queirós got a throw-in 41 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Otávio Meirelles. Adriano Diaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 47 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Adriano Diaz sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Deilmison Bergkamp was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Venezuela booed when ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durvalino de Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute Acácio da Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deilmison Bergkamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 90th minute Adriano Diaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jose Correa during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Deilmison Yashin was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomas Illescas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 92 minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
