Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peru's Alonso Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Menchu FC's Gabriele Batistuta in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Peru's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabriele Batistuta in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. If Luz Tejedor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriele Batistuta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Tomas Cordaryal in the 35th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Salvidor having to interfere. Julian Murillo scored 1-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Camilo Salvidor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 47th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Salvidor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Menchu FC's Tomas Cordaryal got a free kick in the 50th minute. The supporters of Peru booed when Menchu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Cordaryal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Camilo Salvidor was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Emmanuel Reyes kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Menchu FC made a substitution. Primitivo Rocendo replaced Peter Söderqwist. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great ball. Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Menchu FC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 86th minute, Efraim Gilabert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Efraim Gilabert kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, Gaston Firmo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gaston Firmo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 93 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Firmo came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
