Eustacio Baldovino hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Sixto Luke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 8th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candido Hendrickx in the 13th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sixto Luke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 17th minute of play. Eliseo Mina's late challenge caught a Pilar FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseo Mina helped the player get up and apologised. 21 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sixto Luke. Pilar FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 31st minute, Candido Hendrickx ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Hendrickx, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Sixto Luke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 38th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 38th minute of play forced Pilar FC's goalkeeper Sixto Luke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Pilar FC's Sixto Luke. Sixto Luke was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Pilar FC booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonso Berganza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. After 54 played minutes Pilar FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Jenaro. Pilar FC's Sixto Luke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Pilar FC from getting a goal against them. Pilar FC's Guus Koole was substituted for Cristian Jenaro. Julian Murillo took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sixto Luke. Sixto Luke dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Candido Hendrickx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luz Tejedor came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sixto Luke could save by the left post. Pilar FC's Sixto Luke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute Milagros Fraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixto Luke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sixto Luke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 82nd minute of play. Sixto Luke made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Pilar FC made a substitution. Luca Langoni replaced Martin Benítez. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Pilar FC's Nicanor Illan was substituted for Candido Hendrickx. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicanor Illan's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Antonio Tenorio scored 1-4 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sixto Luke, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Sixto Luke successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Pilar FC.
