After 13 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mexico and the Spartak de Txurdi players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eulalio Majua didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Tafalla went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When Felix Luque fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Felix Luque a yellow card for diving instead. 47 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eulalio Majua. Spartak de Txurdi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Gaona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pang Chuan in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. 54 minutes into the match, Spartak de Txurdi's goalkeeper Eulalio Majua had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. In the 55th match minute, Spartak de Txurdi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pang Chuan to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eulalio Majua. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charro Revuelta in the 96th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
