Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Thomas Winfield took the kick off in the first half of the match. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Mehmet Hakkı Oğuzkan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. A collision led to Carlisle United getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Russ Blain hit a great ball. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Mehmet Hakkı Oğuzkan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 洪振义 struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carlisle United. After a rather tough play, Carlisle United's Mark Mager got a free kick in the 11th minute. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. In the 20th minute 洪振义 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Carlisle United's goalkeeper Mehmet Hakkı Oğuzkan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Thomas Winfield sent off a good shot on target. Thomas Winfield charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thomas Winfield the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, Thomas Winfield hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute 洪振义 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Hakkı Oğuzkan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Carlisle United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Camilo Gaos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mehmet Hakkı Oğuzkan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Thomas Winfield stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Thomas Winfield tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehmet Hakkı Oğuzkan having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Hakkı Oğuzkan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Carlisle United's Thomas Winfield got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 64 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 张学友 楚城 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 洪振义, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Thomas Winfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Russ Blain's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Russ Blain helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Carlisle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Russ Blain didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 78 minutes of play, Carlisle United's Thomas Winfield made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlisle United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
