Quebrachitos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Ecuador made a substitution. Max Alvarado replaced Juan Sebastián Puig. In the 10th minute, Celedonio Gaizkine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, Quebrachitos FC's goalkeeper Gualterio Loco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. After 15 minutes, Alfredo Harriet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quebrachitos FC and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Quebrachitos FC's Gualterio Loco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Quebrachitos FC from getting a goal against them. 22 minutes into the match, Quebrachitos FC's goalkeeper Gualterio Loco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustín Saelices. Paul George received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Quebrachitos FC's goalkeeper Gualterio Loco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. Gualterio Loco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Gualterio Loco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Saelices in the 30th minute. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Gualterio Loco skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 36th minute, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 39th play minute Daniel Zorita came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gualterio Loco. 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

50 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Quebrachitos FC's Gualterio Loco. Gualterio Loco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gualterio Loco came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Gualterio Loco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 61st minute of play. Gualterio Loco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gualterio Loco saved Quebrachitos FC from getting behind. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Quebrachitos FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gualterio Loco came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Quebrachitos FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 75th minute, Max Alvarado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gualterio Loco was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Gualterio Loco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After having played for 80 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Quebrachitos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gualterio Loco should have stopped the shot. Gualterio Loco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Godfredo Artal kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
