After 5 minutes, Lautaro Puig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Bucéfalo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marquinhos Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th match minute, Bucéfalo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Vítor Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. Bucéfalo FC's Pedro Luís Montenegro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Bucéfalo FC from getting a goal against them. After 14 minutes of play, Bucéfalo FC's Tico Mole made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 20 minutes, Dadá Britto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bucéfalo FC and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Bucéfalo FC's Dadá Britto got a free kick in the 20th minute. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 25 minutes of play Bucéfalo FC's Dadá Britto was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Pedro Luís Montenegro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Axel Tasis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 27 minute of play. When Alan Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alan Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 33rd minute of play forced Bucéfalo FC's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alan Moruga got his second yellow card in the match during the 38th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 39th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Bucéfalo FC's Marquinhos Pitta got a free kick in the 46th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Nico Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nico Godoi in the 77th minute of play. Nico Godoi succeeded in the game's 77th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-4. Bucéfalo FC's Antônio Ceresso was substituted for Mazinho Damião. Diamantino Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Tico Mole hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, Lautaro Puig made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Luís Montenegro. Bucéfalo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Nico Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 94 minutes, Nico Godoi mouthed his way into the referee's book.
