Juan Sebastián Puig might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Betinho de Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juan Sebastián Puig ran back to his position shaking his head. 48 minutes into the game, Felix Montenegro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Birmingham Railers FC the free kick. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. When Ugo Fantozzi fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Birmingham Railers FC's protests and gave Ugo Fantozzi a yellow card for diving instead. The score was now 1-1. 71 minutes into the match, Wen Yin Zhen notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Daniel Hidle's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Hidle helped the player get up and apologised. Betinho de Azevedo had in the 77thth minute some difficulties stopping Daniel Zorita's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 83rd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the game, Anakoz Amer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 91 minutes into the game, Agustín Saelices was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After recieving a nice pass, Birmingham Railers FC's Önder Aksakal tried to score from far away in the 92nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 94 minutes into the game, Önder Aksakal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
