Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Candido Hendrickx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sixto Luke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to Pilar FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Aukusti Malinen hit a great ball. Pilar FC's Cristian Jenaro managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Diego Bradley in the 16 minute of the game. Monty Rogers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sixto Luke having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candido Hendrickx in the 28th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, USA's Cassius Byrne dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pilar FC's goalkeeper Sixto Luke, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Cassius Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sixto Luke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cassius Byrne stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pilar FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sam Campbell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. Luca Langoni might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marco Day. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luca Langoni ran back to his position shaking his head. There was no doubt that USA were the better team. USA's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
