The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Albano Unzueta in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pablo-Enrique Alabern in the 13th minute of the match. Los once leones Ourense's Albano Unzueta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Los once leones Ourense from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Los once leones Ourense's Albano Unzueta got control of the ball when Monty Rogers tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Albano Unzueta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nereo Cacheres in the 55th minute of play. If Monty Rogers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 59th minute of play forced Los once leones Ourense's goalkeeper Albano Unzueta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albano Unzueta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 61st minute of play. If Khalid Parry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sam Campbell in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albano Unzueta saved Los once leones Ourense from getting behind.
