BRUGGE FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Felix Montenegro heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 32nd minute, Radoslaw Zagrodny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petrigai Guau could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Göran Bröms breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Göran Bröms saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Rui Avelar managed to get in a good position for a shot. BRUGGE FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Avelar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 43 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. BRUGGE FC's Radoslaw Zagrodny shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 44th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Julio Vera but with some difficulty. Göran Bröms showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Helder Cadanes went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luis Andino got free with Göran Bröms in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. A collision led to BRUGGE FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Rui Avelar hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Göran Bröms narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Göran Bröms. Göran Bröms yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 73rd minute, which Göran Bröms however easily saved by the left post. The audience was convinced that Rui Avelar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Göran Bröms made a huge save. After 78 played minutes Daniel Zorita rounded BRUGGE FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. BRUGGE FC made a substitution. Imre Szabó replaced Petrigai Guau. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Göran Bröms read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, BRUGGE FC's goalkeeper Göran Bröms had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustín Saelices.
