One of Club Del Gallo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of El Salvador:s goal. Dráuzio Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conrado Arruda made in the 12th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Zé Paulo Torres immediately put the ball in play. Club Del Gallo's Ramón Vidal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Club Del Gallo from getting a goal against them. Abram Luque's late challenge caught a Club Del Gallo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abram Luque helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Abram Luque got a free kick in the 30th minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Salvador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Fernandino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moises Fernandino got free with Ramón Vidal in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Túlio Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Abram Luque hit a great ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Moises Fernandino to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Claudinei Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramón Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Club Del Gallo's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Luque came free, but Ramón Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Abram Luque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 65 minutes, Zé Paulo Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Del Gallo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Paulo Torres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After taking down the ball on El Salvador's corner Mateo Leguizamo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ramón Vidal quite easily take care of the ball. After having played for 71 minutes, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moises Fernandino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ramón Vidal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, El Salvador's Moises Fernandino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ramón Vidal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Club Del Gallo's Túlio Coutinho got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Club Del Gallo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
