In the 12th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Göran Bröms saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serafim Salles during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 14th minute, Serafim Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when 蒋誉朋 scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-0. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Rui Avelar tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Petrigai Guau stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Avelar in the 51st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Venezuela booed when BRUGGE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafim Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute BRUGGE FC were awarded a corner. Gilberto Thuram went to the cornerflag to take it. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petrigai Guau in the 71st minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petrigai Guau in the 74th minute of the match. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind BRUGGE FC's goalkeeper Göran Bröms, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radoslaw Zagrodny in the 89th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 91 minutes of play, BRUGGE FC's Petrigai Guau made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 94 minutes, Radoslaw Zagrodny managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BRUGGE FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Radoslaw Zagrodny was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. BRUGGE FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
