Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Regis made a kick off. In the 84th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alexander Hegg was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Fabiofs booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Hegg having to interfere. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Daniel Regis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Daniel Regis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Alexander Hegg in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Fabiofs players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
