Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Colombia's Abram Sarmiento started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Palestra do Interior's Allan Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Mastache in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the game, Paulo Godoi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pedro Manzanares. Paulo Godoi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Orlando Tafalla made in the 9th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Santino Seco immediately put the ball in play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santino Seco in the 13th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Santino Seco made a precise shot to the right of Allan Varela. Palestra do Interior's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Allan Varela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Paulo Godoi. But to his dismay, Paulo Godoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Paulo Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When Paulo Godoi came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Palestra do Interior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Godoi couldn't finish the play. In the 55th minute, Paulo Godoi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palestra do Interior fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Pedro Manzanares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo Godoi went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, 吴洲坚 managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra do Interior's supporters rose to their feet, but 吴洲坚 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Palestra do Interior fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Palestra do Interior's Paulo Godoi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Percival Cruz replaced 吴洲坚. 70 minutes into the game, Paulo Godoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-2. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Vitório Lago replaced Paulo Godoi. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitório Lago in the 76th minute of play. Allan Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Mastache in the 77th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Vitório Lago stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Vitório Lago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vitório Lago took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-2. In the 88th minute, Vitório Lago ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-2. 95 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Ignacio Mastache came free, but Allan Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palestra do Interior's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
