The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After 16 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Caba in the 19th minute of play. Calistrat Babeș could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zak Soon was slow to take the kick. During this time F.C Alex Bucuresti's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 34th minute of play forced F.C Alex Bucuresti's goalkeeper Raşit Özdilek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calistrat Babeș, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. Claudiu Braru took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Calistrat Babeș cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. F.C Alex Bucuresti's Raşit Özdilek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 66th minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Raşit Özdilek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Petruț Fânaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Raşit Özdilek in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calistrat Babeș in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th minute Gigel Caba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calistrat Babeș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind F.C Alex Bucuresti's goalkeeper Raşit Özdilek, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Petruț Fânaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Petruț Fânaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raşit Özdilek having to interfere.
