In the 3rd minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximiliano Iigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel-Omar Batista got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lei Feng Ying, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th play minute Gabriel-Omar Batista came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Pedro Manzanares. 1-0. Adan Aresti kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, ★Independiente Ψ★'s Gilberto Loreto got a free kick in the 21st minute. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jay-Jay Okocha in the 26th minute. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Pascual Carballar got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 38th minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Axel Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. Luis Cazalla was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lei Feng Ying in the 41st minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes in the game, Lei Feng Ying dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Maximiliano Iigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Israel Manuelo hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 47thth minute of the game Abram Sarmiento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ★Independiente Ψ★'s Maximiliano Iigo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Colombia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Axel Montenegro in the 48th minute. A nice corner shot did that Axel Montenegro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Maximiliano Iigo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. Lázaro Rufo hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. A collision led to ★Independiente Ψ★ getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Israel Manuelo hit a great ball. In the 71st minute Gabriel-Omar Batista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of ★Independiente Ψ★ booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santino Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel-Omar Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Jay-Jay Okocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Jay-Jay Okocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gabriel-Omar Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 83rd minute, Adan Aresti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Gabriel-Omar Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute ★Independiente Ψ★ were awarded a corner. Jay-Jay Okocha went to the cornerflag to take it. ★Independiente Ψ★'s Gabriel-Omar Batista managed to work through Colombia's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Gabriel-Omar Batista dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in.
