But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Florin Bratu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere.
