Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mané Lara in the 27th minute of play. Monty Rogers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Prospero Perfecto kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. USA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cassius Byrne in the 32nd minute. The corner ended in Jenson Smith almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Joinville United - FSCMZ's Borys Gruchacz did a great save. 37 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Borys Gruchacz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cassius Byrne. Mané Lara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Borys Gruchacz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Mané Lara received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marco Day came out and tried to block the shot, but Mané Lara slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 55th minute. After having played for 59 minutes, Mané Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Joinville United - FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mané Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borys Gruchacz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
