Julio Vera didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when MarquinhosEC's Alessandro do Valle shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 14th minute Vágner Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gabriel Martini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matei Răducu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 19th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Vágner Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute, Alessandro do Valle left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MarquinhosEC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Martini got free with Julio Vera in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Matei Răducu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 41st minute of play. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper Matei Răducu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Matei Răducu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alessandro do Valle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Alessandro do Valle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Curt Montes in the 68th minute of the match. Matei Răducu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. MarquinhosEC's Perivaldo Guimarães was substituted for Curt Montes. MarquinhosEC's Rubinho Valle was substituted for Esteve Quinto. Barrie Deacon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Freitas in the 80th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Martini in the 85th minute of play.
