The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nektarios Varveris having to interfere. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irinel Tatomir in the 6th minute of play. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Lucrețiu Ghimiș kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. If Irinel Tatomir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basarab Vărzaru scored 0-2 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 16th minute Lucrețiu Ghimiș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007's Lucrețiu Ghimiș sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Irinel Tatomir got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Lucrețiu Ghimiș had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucrețiu Ghimiș was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 30th minute, Irinel Tatomir left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Irinel Tatomir scored 0-5 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by Costa Rica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eugen Mihălțan was slow to take the kick. During this time ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007's players had a chance to rest. Eugen Mihălțan made a great header on ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007's corner, it was just that Costa Rica's Benito Sanz managed to reach the ball for a save. After 46 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. When Sandu Condeescu came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandu Condeescu couldn't finish the play. Irinel Tatomir hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 58 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Irinel Tatomir came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Lucrețiu Ghimiș stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Lucrețiu Ghimiș tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 61 minutes into the match, Irinel Tatomir dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 0-6. The crowd rose to their feet as ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007's Lucrețiu Ghimiș slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 0-8 after 70 minutes of play. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucrețiu Ghimiș in the 74th minute of play. The throw-in from Hugo Ferrant in the 76th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007's Eliodor Gheban. ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007's attentive Eliodor Gheban managed to snatch the ball when Hugo Ferrant made a throw-in in the 78th minute of the game. 79 minutes into the game, Lucrețiu Ghimiș recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Lucrețiu Ghimiș showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-9. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucrețiu Ghimiș in the 89th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Lucrețiu Ghimiș notched a goal, 0-10, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007 played a much better game than Costa Rica and deserved their victory. The Costa Rica players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
