Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mané Lara in the 7th minute of play. Borys Gruchacz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 10th minute of the match. Fernando Vale made in the 13th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. After a rather tough play, Peru's Alonso Berganza got a free kick in the 13th minute. Borys Gruchacz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 16th minute of the match. In the 18th match minute, Joinville United - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karel Otto to maneuver through the defense. Luz Tejedor took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Borys Gruchacz. Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Peru were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Joinville United - FSCMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. The corner led Peru's Luz Tejedor to fire away a dangerous shot which Borys Gruchacz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Peru's Julian Murillo came free and shot a quick shot against goal 22 minutes in the game, fortunately Borys Gruchacz had problems saving as it came toward the left post. The supporters of Peru booed when Joinville United - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pinchas Man didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joinville United - FSCMZ's Borys Gruchacz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Borys Gruchacz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Joinville United - FSCMZ defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Borys Gruchacz. The Joinville United - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Borys Gruchacz should have stopped the shot. Efraim Gilabert kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané Lara in the 40th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Julian Murillo took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Borys Gruchacz to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borys Gruchacz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joinville United - FSCMZ's Maurício Donatello was substituted for Mané Lara. Joinville United - FSCMZ's Lennart Khan was substituted for Didi Cardozo. Joinville United - FSCMZ made a substitution. Alesandro Coutinho replaced Elberg As. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurício Donatello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Joinville United - FSCMZ's Alesandro Coutinho. But to his dismay, Alesandro Coutinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurício Donatello in the 75th minute of play. Joinville United - FSCMZ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Prospero Perfecto in the 76th minute. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Reynaldo Osmond advanced and headed the ball into goal, 2-2 in the 77th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Lennart Khan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rolando Noboa, 2-3. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. 93 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Maurício Donatello came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Joinville United - FSCMZ players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
