The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Furlan got free with Douglas Lago in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 4th minute of the match, João Carlos Rocha tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Douglas Lago saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Diego Furlan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Douglas Lago read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. The wind increased when Duda Oliveira made the kick off in the second half. RWD Molenbeek's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
