The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agostinho Guedes in the 22nd minute of the match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Alagoano in the 24th minute of play. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agostinho Guedes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Elias Damasceno slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 56th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Eliseu Alagoano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. João Vítor Guimarães came out of the goal and Eliseo Noboa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by 卡納里尼奧 FC's Eliseu Alagoano. But to his dismay, Eliseu Alagoano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 90th minute, Severino da Cunha made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6.
