In the 4th minute, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Arí Machado dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Amor having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felippe Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Amor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arí Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cícero da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Melquiades Amor made a huge save. When Felippe Paranaense fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's protests and gave Felippe Paranaense a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th minute, Cícero da Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Melquiades Amor in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rene Sergi's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rene Sergi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th minute, Rene Sergi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melquiades Amor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ecuador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
