Marco Day made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Arnaldo Marquez sent off a good shot on target. 35 minutes into the match, USA's Monty Rogers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Danilo Testa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnaldo Marquez got free with Marco Day in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 42nd minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo Testa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Candelaria FC defense, Cassius Byrne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Danilo Testa. The Candelaria FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Danilo Testa should have stopped the shot.
