Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hernán Crespo started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in El Millo de Haedo's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Ruisko came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th minute, Remigio Uhin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the El Millo de Haedo defense, Felix Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernando Ruisko. The El Millo de Haedo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernando Ruisko should have stopped the shot. 18 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fernando Ruisko. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Fernando Ruisko made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 23rd minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernando Ruisko made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Fernando Ruisko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 30th minute of the match. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. El Millo de Haedo's Fernando Ruisko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save El Millo de Haedo from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the El Millo de Haedo defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernando Ruisko. The El Millo de Haedo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernando Ruisko should have stopped the shot. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Fernando Ruisko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristian Sancho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernando Ruisko made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernán Crespo in the 57th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. El Millo de Haedo's Fernando Ruisko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 58th minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after El Millo de Haedo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Luis Andino managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Hernán Crespo scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 4-2. Alejo Urtun hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Fernando Ruisko came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. In the 82nd minute, Pedro Gonzalez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to El Millo de Haedo getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Alejo Urtun hit a great ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hernán Crespo in the 93rd minute. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hernán Crespo went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-3 was the resulting score. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
