Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Cristian Furdui in the 20 minute of the game. 26 minutes into the game, Cristian Furdui was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Owls's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peru the free kick. Cristian Furdui kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of The Owls's Jan-Åke Emander. Jan-Åke Emander was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 31st minute of play forced The Owls's goalkeeper Jan-Åke Emander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Ubarna Harroyo notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Corneliu Fox made a throw-in in the 36th minute of the game. The Owls were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Recep Talha Kutyan took the corner. The Owls's Recep Talha Kutyan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rolando Noboa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 47 minutes into the match, The Owls's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Jan-Åke Emander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Jan-Åke Emander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 52nd minute of play. When The Owls's William Creemers in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Peru's goalie prevented a goal. In the 60th minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Åke Emander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan-Åke Emander made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Milagros Fraga sent off a good shot on target. In the 62nd minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Emmanuel Reyes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but The Owls's Jan-Åke Emander did a great save. After 71 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for The Owls! Anthony Alvarado kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ubarna Harroyo in the 75th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gino Galante during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Peru booed when The Owls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gino Galante didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan-Åke Emander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 77th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Eliseo Mina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If William Creemers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Recep Talha Kutyan in the 88th minute of the match. In the 91st match minute, The Owls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gino Galante to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubarna Harroyo, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute of the match The Owls got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Recep Talha Kutyan ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on The Owls's corner Recep Talha Kutyan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Peru's Rafael Gallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan-Åke Emander narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
