The supporters of Panama booed when Desportivo Coala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marián De Bruyne didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Berganza got free with Astor Hug in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ronalds McDonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronalds McDonald in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Ronalds McDonald got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Desportivo Coala's Pedro Luís da Rocha got a free kick in the 31st minute. Astor Hug made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 33rd minute of play. Ronalds McDonald took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Ronalds McDonald put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronalds McDonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Berganza was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Matthew Garrido threw the ball into play from the sideline. Desportivo Coala's Pedro Luís da Rocha quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronalds McDonald, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronalds McDonald in the 64th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the game, one of Panama:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ronalds McDonald shot the penalty kick right outside the post. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Matthew Garrido hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Matthew Garrido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronalds McDonald in the 76th minute. Pedro Luís da Rocha's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Luís da Rocha helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th match minute, Desportivo Coala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luís da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Astor Hug showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matthew Garrido, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Isidoro Sarmiento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcos Cotilla was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Ramachandramurthy Van Dijk capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ramachandramurthy Van Dijk really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. After having played for 97 minutes, Ramachandramurthy Van Dijk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Desportivo Coala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramachandramurthy Van Dijk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Panama fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Desportivo Coala were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
