Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gernando Paes having to interfere. After 40 played minutes Nas Horas Vagas F.C got a freekick which was hit by Léo Vianna. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Morales Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Virgílio Ferraz scored 2-2 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Morales Moreira's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Virgílio Ferraz ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a defensive mix-up in Nas Horas Vagas F.C's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gernando Paes came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Gernando Paes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. The supporters of Nas Horas Vagas F.C booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball.
