In the 25th minute Lázaro Ekain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guillermo Ezkerra charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guillermo Ezkerra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 40 minutes, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eduard Hourani kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After 44 played minutes GARIBALDI FC got a freekick which was hit by Darío Eagles. When Mile Letina fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GARIBALDI FC's protests and gave Mile Letina a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th match minute, GARIBALDI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mile Letina to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to GARIBALDI FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Gustav Svensson hit a great ball. GARIBALDI FC were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hugo Jacinto took the corner. GARIBALDI FC's Hugo Jacinto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joaquin Gayoso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lázaro Ekain in the 71st minute of the match. GARIBALDI FC's Nicolas Eduino was substituted for Raul Transito. When GARIBALDI FC's Eduard Hourani in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Uruguay's goalie prevented a goal. GARIBALDI FC's Mile Letina got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. GARIBALDI FC made a substitution. Dedê Koehler replaced Hugo Jacinto. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo got a free kick in the 89th minute. GARIBALDI FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Uruguay had controlled the match.
