Inocencio Oinatz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Set Fire booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Alberto Bidun tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 12 minutes, Antonio Arias mouthed his way into the referee's book. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Bidun in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 21st minute Pedro Brais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inocencio Oinatz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Disappointed in the 2-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Inocencio Oinatz managed to avoid a goal in the 51stth minute, when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! A sloppy throw-in by Primitivo Andino in the 92nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Set Fire's Julio Gorri. Julio Gorri kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Set Fire's Inocencio Oinatz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Set Fire from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Set Fire.
