Nacho Gonzalez made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Santino Seco sent off a good shot on target. 16 minutes into the match, Santino Seco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nacho Gonzalez. El Gallo de Moron's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Santino Seco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luisinho Laguna's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the game, Axel Montenegro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nacho Gonzalez. Axel Montenegro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisinho Laguna in the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Luisinho Laguna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th minute Luisinho Laguna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luisinho Laguna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. The supporters of Colombia booed when El Gallo de Moron was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Kostka didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Luisinho Laguna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luisinho Laguna to make the kick off. Luis Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After having played for 58 minutes, Luisinho Laguna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Gallo de Moron's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisinho Laguna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luisinho Laguna in the 59th minute. Luisinho Laguna struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Pedro Manzanares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Gallo de Moron. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. In the 70th minute, Sándor Fenyvessy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. El Gallo de Moron's Jimeno Mikolas was substituted for Vanja Džaferović. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. Nacho Gonzalez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pascual Carballar in the 73rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Luisinho Laguna kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 2-3 in the 74 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisinho Laguna got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Orlando Tafalla hit a great ball. El Gallo de Moron's Teofilo Garrote got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luisinho Laguna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisinho Laguna in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Luisinho Laguna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched El Gallo de Moron eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
