A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. Er Miner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 5th minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Countdown FC's Er Miner. Er Miner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Washington Demartis in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Washington Demartis sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Er Miner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida Carioca's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dida Carioca helped the player get up and apologised. Daniel Zorita placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Washington Demartis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Er Miner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Countdown FC's Er Miner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 33rd minute of play. Er Miner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 37th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Adriano Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Diguinho Rezende kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Er Miner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Washington Demartis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Er Miner in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. João Vítor Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Er Miner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Diguinho Rezende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Er Miner having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 79th minute. Luis Andino might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Er Miner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Countdown FC! Daniel Zorita placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 1-1 when João Vítor Barros sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. A collision led to Countdown FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Alfredão Sergipano hit a great ball. João Vítor Barros struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Countdown FC. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
