Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 41st minute, Morales Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Morales Moreira in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Morales Moreira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Morales Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Morales Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roberto Ocampo made a kick off. If Roberto Ocampo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. Roberto Ocampo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Gernando Paes made a huge save. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gernando Paes having to interfere. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Nas Horas Vagas F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute Conrado Camargo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 played minutes Nas Horas Vagas F.C got a freekick which was hit by Carlos de Castro. The Venezuela supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Venezuela would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
