The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Linares got free with Julio Vera in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Robinho Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of play forced DJVAGALUMY FC.'s goalkeeper Robinho Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Téo Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. DJVAGALUMY FC. made a substitution. The supporters of Ecuador booed when DJVAGALUMY FC. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovani Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yuri Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yuri Amorim in the 97th minute of play.
