Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Emerson Whaley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 3rd minute of play. After 4 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. Julio Vera was out of position in the 5 minute of play, and David Brochu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. David Brochu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Emerson Whaley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Brochu in the 13th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 16th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Brochu in the 17th minute of play. Emerson Whaley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 22nd minute of the match. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after AFC Richmond's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. AFC Richmond's Emerson Whaley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Whaley having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luis Andino in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emerson Whaley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 32 minutes, Luis Andino made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. AFC Richmond's Emerson Whaley tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lawrence Hopson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, AFC Richmond's René Moody got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 45th minute David Brochu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Luis Andino charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis Andino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, David Brochu managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Richmond's supporters rose to their feet, but David Brochu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 70th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. AFC Richmond's Erin Valencia was substituted for Ali Can. After a rather tough play, AFC Richmond's Irmantas Zenkevičius got a free kick in the 85th minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lawrence Hopson, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 87th minute, Lawrence Hopson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 93 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Lawrence Hopson came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute AFC Richmond were awarded a corner. Filip Mladenovič went to the cornerflag to take it. AFC Richmond's Filip Mladenovič was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Daniel Zorita's late challenge caught a AFC Richmond's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Zorita helped the player get up and apologised. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
