After a rather tough play, Panama's Alex Cambeiro got a free kick in the 13th minute. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Jose Carita hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, one of Panama:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Panama. Fidel Telo scored 1-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ismael Medero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. The HACHITAS WC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Panama had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
