Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Lewis van Dijk in the 23 minute of the game. In the 24th minute of the match, Eliseo Mina tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Manúel Bento saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rolando Noboa was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Frank Catarinense capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Frank Catarinense really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Dogelo's Manúel Bento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Mina in the 55th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manúel Bento. Dogelo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Julian Murillo took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manúel Bento. Manúel Bento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristóf Földes, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Rolando Noboa was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Manúel Bento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 68th minute of the match. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 92nd minute Rafael Gallo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manúel Bento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafael Gallo in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manúel Bento saved Dogelo from getting behind. In the 94th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Eliseo Mina went to the cornerflag to take it. 96 minutes into the match, Rafael Gallo notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of Dogelo's Manúel Bento. Manúel Bento was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
