Axel Tasis struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Dário Neiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Qjos MiLLano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe van Basten didn't get a good kick on the ball. 1-0 became the score in the 26th minute when Felipe van Basten elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Qjos MiLLano's Dário Neiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 31st minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe van Basten. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Qjos MiLLano's attentive Luiz Teixeira managed to snatch the ball when Hugo Ferrant made a throw-in in the 41st minute of the game. Osman Ali Fidan's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. If Felipe van Basten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ştefan Bobeica, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Qjos MiLLano getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Osman Ali Fidan hit a great ball. Zé Augusto Carneiro hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Qjos MiLLano were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Costa Rica to leave the ground with a draw.
