Leo Pangsepp's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leo Pangsepp. In the 20th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Faro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tobias Faro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leo Pangsepp got free with Julio Vera in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Social y Dep. Patagonia's goalkeeper Tobias Faro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 28 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tobias Faro. Social y Dep. Patagonia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 31st minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Agustín Saelices came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustín Saelices couldn't finish the play. Tobias Faro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 38th minute of the match. Robustiano Elorri's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robustiano Elorri helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Social y Dep. Patagonia's Robustiano Elorri got a free kick in the 47th minute. Tobias Faro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leo Pangsepp was the one to do the kick off. Leo Pangsepp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. If Leo Pangsepp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Pangsepp in the 54th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Faro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 58th minute. If Arnaldo Bastia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Social y Dep. Patagonia's Tobias Faro got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Social y Dep. Patagonia's Tobias Faro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Social y Dep. Patagonia from getting a goal against them. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Social y Dep. Patagonia made a substitution. Severo Laurgain replaced Leo Pangsepp. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 79thth minute got Tobias Faro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Severo Laurgain came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Social y Dep. Patagonia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severo Laurgain couldn't finish the play. After having played for 84 minutes, Severo Laurgain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Social y Dep. Patagonia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severo Laurgain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tobias Faro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Robustiano Elorri hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. An unexpected shot in the 95th minute by Cristian Sancho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Social y Dep. Patagonia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
