In the 30th match minute, KS Bozywerek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Augustyn to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adrian Augustyn was slow to take the kick. During this time KS Bozywerek's players had a chance to rest. KS Bozywerek's Felipo Carulla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save KS Bozywerek from getting a goal against them. Julian Kociniewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. KS Bozywerek's Adrian Augustyn got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind KS Bozywerek's goalkeeper Felipo Carulla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Felipo Carulla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 80th minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felipo Carulla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 84 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felipo Carulla was left in no man's land by his defense there! The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Felipo Carulla despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
