Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charro Revuelta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Spartak de Txurdi were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Leocadio Castro took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Leocadio Castro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rolando Noboa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 16th minute, Leocadio Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Spartak de Txurdi's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Eulalio Majua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 minutes Spartak de Txurdi's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Eulalio Majua in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pang Chuan in the 25th minute of the match. Spartak de Txurdi's Doğan Ferikoğlu suffered a concussion in the 26th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Luz Tejedor fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Peru's protests and gave Luz Tejedor a yellow card for diving instead. Spartak de Txurdi's Nicasio Palencia was substituted for Doğan Ferikoğlu. After a rather tough play, Peru's Luz Tejedor got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 36thth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Spartak de Txurdi's Eulalio Majua was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julian Murillo came free with the goalkeeper in the 40th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eulalio Majua could save by the left post. 42 minutes into the match, Spartak de Txurdi's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Eulalio Majua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charro Revuelta in the 45th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Charro Revuelta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Spartak de Txurdi's goalkeeper Eulalio Majua, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Spartak de Txurdi's Eulalio Majua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 62nd minute of play. Pang Chuan made in the 64th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Julian Murillo put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Eulalio Majua. In the 70th minute, Pang Chuan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The supporters of Spartak de Txurdi booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efraim Gilabert didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eulalio Majua breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Spartak de Txurdi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eliseo Mina was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Peru's Eliseo Mina to fire away a dangerous shot which Eulalio Majua despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Charro Revuelta's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 90thth minute, Rolando Noboa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 94th minute of the game Emmanuel Reyes made a throw-in which Milagros Fraga played forward. Eulalio Majua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Gallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Peru players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
