Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Ellis Hoskin sent off a good shot on target. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Martini, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Ellis Hoskin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Camilo Franco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Uruguay's goalie prevented a goal. Australian Youth Academy were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rufus Roach took the corner. If Garth Brough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Australian Youth Academy's Keylor Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 23 minutes, Garth Brough managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Australian Youth Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Garth Brough was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jorge Sainz made in the 26th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Camilo Franco however managed to control. 27 minutes into the match, Garth Brough had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Garth Brough was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Ellis Hoskin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the game, Garth Brough lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Joaquin Gayoso. Garth Brough recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Australian Youth Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rufus Roach didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garth Brough's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Garth Brough had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Garth Brough was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Garth Brough had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Garth Brough was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garth Brough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Garth Brough blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Gayoso having to make a save. In the 63rd minute Garth Brough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 67 minutes, Garth Brough made it 7-0 with a short kick to the right side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Australian Youth Academy's zone, Francisco Seco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keylor Navas came out of the goal and Francisco Seco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 84th play minutes Garth Brough shot 9-0, a short shot which went by Joaquin Gayoso and just under the crossbar into goal. Jorge Sainz hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Uruguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
