Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Lorenzo Santa María kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute Cauan Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dan Cambridge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 5th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Arósio in the 6th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Cauan Favoretto came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dan Cambridge came out and tried to block the shot, but Tomas Illescas slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 10th minute. In the 15th minute of the game Sidnei de Barros made a throw-in which Nico Bueno played forward. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Cauan Favoretto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 22nd minute, Cauan Favoretto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santiago Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Dan Cambridge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lorenzo Santa María in the 34th minute of the match. After 36 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Enrique Arósio who took care of the corner kick. Lorenzo Santa María blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Santiago Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Berthold Borgi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th minute of the match, Nico Bueno got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jonathan Ferrant was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 59th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cauan Favoretto. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Santa María, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 69th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 72 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cauan Favoretto. 83 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Lorenzo Santa María came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santiago Futebol Clube played a much better game than Venezuela and deserved their victory. The Venezuela players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
