After 3 minutes, Renato Augusto made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Esen Sanal came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Augusto in the 14th minute of play. Esen Sanal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Lei Feng Yan notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Renato Augusto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. 27 minutes into the match, Renato Augusto notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 31 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Renato Augusto came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Renato Augusto put it in 1-6 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Venegas's late challenge caught a S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Venegas helped the player get up and apologised. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Renato Augusto put it in 1-7 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. 60 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Renato Augusto. Renato Augusto had several of the Venezuela's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 62 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-8 score and a disappointed Jonathan Ferrant as he didn't even see the shot coming. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 68th minute of play. After 70 played minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Owsiak. In the 72nd minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucio Siekkötter. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Renato Augusto sent off a good shot on target. Esen Sanal came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-8. After 89 played minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Renato Augusto. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Renato Augusto in the 92nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucio Siekkötter in the 96th minute of play. The Venezuela fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
