Uwe Septinius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Liquisue FC's Federico Insúa. But to his dismay, Federico Insúa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 8th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uwe Septinius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play forced Los Liquisue FC's goalkeeper Uwe Septinius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Uwe Septinius saved Los Liquisue FC from getting behind. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Los Liquisue FC's Uwe Septinius did a great save. After 26th play minutes Federico Insúa shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Julio Vera and just under the crossbar into goal. If Federico Insúa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 35 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Insúa came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Los Liquisue FC:s goal. Grigoris Berzovitis hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Hermengildo Itzaina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Liquisue FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermengildo Itzaina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 57 minutes, Federico Insúa made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 60 minutes into the game, Los Liquisue FC's Federico Insúa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Los Liquisue FC were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Paolo Xabat took the corner. 71 minutes into the match, Los Liquisue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Uwe Septinius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emiliano Boni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Federico Insúa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Uwe Septinius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 88th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Federico Insúa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Liquisue FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Federico Insúa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Los Liquisue FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
